Malton Town Council is looking to recruit a volunteer Town Crier to represent and promote the town.
Their advert reads:
“We are seeking an outgoing, reliable and enthusiastic individual with a good command of language and the ability to compose and present proclamations to groups of people.
“The successful applicant will be willing to attend events occasionally on weekdays and weekends, during the day or evening, but you would not be called on too frequently, you would probably called on approximately six times per year. Some local travel will be necessary. The post is honorary and unpaid, however, the regalia will be provided and expenses for travel will be considered.”
The Council says they are seeking applicants who are “passionate about our community, enjoy public speaking and want to play an active role in local life.”
