Hull 0-19 Health Visiting Team win prestigious award

The Hull 0-19 Health Visiting Team, part of Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, has been recognised as the Institute of Health Visiting’s (iHV) Health Visiting Team of the Year 2026. The team received the prestigious award for their pioneering work supporting families across Hull.

The Institute of Health Visiting describe awards as a celebration of the dedication and impact that health visitors and their teams make to babies, children and families every day.

The judging panel praised the Hull 0-19 Health Visiting Team for its “whole-system, innovative approach” in tackling health inequalities and improving breastfeeding rates in one of the most socially deprived communities in the UK.

They also highlighted the team’s comprehensive programme of work, which has included extensive staff training, the development of the city’s successful Milk Trail initiative with local businesses, engagement with children in schools to raise awareness of infant feeding and ensuring families can access expert support whenever they need it.

Judges said: “They are a shining example of excellence in health visiting.”

Becky Price, Service Manager at Hull 0-19 Integrated Public Health Nursing Service, said:

“The 0-19 Integrated Public Health Nursing service has done a huge amount of work to embed quality improvements across the scope of health visiting. Evidence of which is seen through the investment & development of highly skilled and confident staff that have the ability to support a range of public health needs for the families they meet. This award is testament to the innovative practice we deliver across Hull.”
